INTEGRATIVE FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT
WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT?
To understand what Integrative Functional Movement is, we first need to appreciate how all of the different parts of our body work together to create movement.
Bending over to pick something up off the ground combines balance, flexibility and mobility, strength, and coordination. Our spine, hips, knees, ankles, and arms need to move together to get the task done. Just as performing a specific exercise never really targets just one muscle. All muscles co-contract and work together to keep your core strong and stable and your whole body balanced.
Integrative Functional Movement is targeted training that improves your ability to perform normal daily tasks, sports or recreational activities, and even work-related activities.
This type of training improves your body’s ability to work efficiently as one unit as the whole body, the whole person, and all aspects of one’s lifestyle is combined to create individualized training.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Integrative Functional Movement training incorporates conventional training and exercise methods with additional, alternative techniques that best suite each individual.
With Moveart’s innovative, unique approach to movement, you will be prescribed a specifically designed and tailored plan to meet your needs, demands, and goals. While working one on one with your trainer you may use different equipment such as the TRX, Bosu Ball, Kettlebells and dumbbells, resistance bands, and simply your own body weight.
Through a detailed history and your life and analysis of your movement mechanics, we can safely progress you to where you want to be.
This is true for everyone, whether you are a beginner, an elite athlete, and industrial worker, a stay-at-home mom, a senior citizen, and anyone in between. We all move throughout the day.
